How Cinderella Does Charity
[2.11.2010]
March 13th & 14th Cinderella Pantomime Cast and Crew of 14 nations will call the new QISS school campus (QCCI) home. After four months of asking for help with provisions, we achieve success at last. We now have a stage on which to perform.
Pantomime talent has been around for four years. Each year we have not only worked hard to entertain the community but we also manage to keep charity at the forefront of our minds. WE all wear many different hats outside our homes.
Pantonites volunteer every year not only to entertain the community but also to make a difference. Our artistic team consists of a costume crew, choreographers, artists, actors and teachers. Some of these members visit schools and hospitals. Bringing money, raised by events, such as the Pantomime, for classroom computers and supplies, surgeries and medicine. Other members volunteer to read books to pre-schoolers, hold Zumba-thons only to give it all back to orphanages.
While we waited for approval on the Song Ling Road theatre, everyone managed to keep busy behind the scenes. Cinderella's family & friends continue to dedicate many hours of preparation, rehearsal, promoting, fund raising and charity work. All their tireless efforts have finally been reciprocated. The new QISS (QCCI) campus theatre on Song Ling Road is only one recognizable reward for the Pantomime crew. Giving to charity is what we really are about. To donate please see www.qingdaopanto.org, email qdpanto@yahoo.com, or directly contact Rita Nielsen at 13964819925.
Pizza Party Fundraiser

Our 1st Cinderella Fundraiser was a pizza party at the Safari Pub Crowne Plaza, November 18th.
Soon after the panto auditions we got to work on raising funds to rent a theatre for our
March 12th, 13th, 14th performance.
We had approximately 25 guests and friends who came to have their photos taken with
Cinderella. Together we raised 3000 RMB and brought awareness to the community.
With their help we can have a stage to perform our 2010 Cinderella Panto on.
A Bippity Boppity Boo thank-you to all who continue to support us. Let's keep
performing arts alive in Qingdao!

Auditions for 2010 Pantomime: Cinderella
[12.18.2009]
Crowne Plaza, Meeting Room No. 9,
4th Floor (follow signs in lobby), Saturday November 14, 2009
Children (6-12): 10am-12pm
Adults (+12):1pm-3pm
Pantomime is a British tradition often performed around Christmas. A children's rhyme or popular story is made into a pantomime by adding songs, dances, slapstick humour, audience participation, local jokes, and,of course, cross-dressing and you could be the perfect actor/actress for parts in this years play! Cinderella is shaping up to be an exciting play that combines fun, entertainment, laughter and excitement.
Saturday, November 14th, Bring your dancing shoes, your singing voice, and your alter egos! The Qingdao Pantomime equally divides all profits into two categories:half will pay for next year's show; and half will go to a local charity group.
Participation is needed on all levels. Not only do we need actors/singers/dancers, we need all the help we can get behind the scenes, too! So, even if you just want to help in a small way--you are an important part of the show's success.

We Need Help!
Keep the Performing Arts alive in Qingdao! The 2010 Cinderella Panto is in need of a theatre. We are desperately seeking donations to continue the Panto tradition. Please contact Rita Nielsen when you are able contribute email rita.nielsen@me.com.
Our Goal 50,000 RMB
Our Panto Event continues to be one of the main fundraising occasions of the year. To help us plan for this fundraiser event, we would greatly appreciate if your company would consider donating. All proceeds collected will help us continue to support those in need while entertaining the community.
The generous support of your company would make a difference in so many lives. Our Theatre Committee Members facilitate the support along with the Expat Community. Be someone’s Fairy Godmother/Godfather!
Help us reach our goal of 50,000 RMB so we can have a stage on which to perform.
